Workshop this Saturday, January 31

We’re giving a free workshop at the Canadian Music Centre in Vancouver this Saturday, January 31. 1pm-3pm, hosted by Vancouver Pro Musica and sponsored by the Canadian League of Composers.

As part of our upcoming call for scores with Vancouver Pro Musica, they’ll be a focus on how to write for a semi-improvisatory classical ensemble. We’ll be going through several examples of works we’ve performed in the past: part open rehearsal and part ensemble discussion on how we approach open scores, graphic scores, improvised elements, etc. as a way to illustrate our process as performers and interpreters of new works.

So if you’re a performer interested in what we do, it’s also a workshop for you! All are welcome. See you on Saturday!

new year, new music!

Happy new year! We’re pleased that our first focus for the new year is a call for scores run by Vancouver Pro Musica, culminating with a performance as part of their Further Series.
